Mountain Biking Holidays in Scotland

Blackrock Cottage with Buchaille Etive Mor in background

A Vurie Adventures mountain biking holiday will take you far from the madding crowd to a place of peace and tranquillity. To a place beyond the forest trails high up into the mountains where the air is clear and the only sound you hear is that of the wind and wildlife. This is traditional mountain biking.

Our mountain biking holidays are designed to give a taste of what it’s like to ride in a variety of environments. Our routes explore forest trails, moorland and open hillside, they are constantly changing. We seek out the natural single-track and all you have to do is ride it.

All routes can be tackled on a hard tail bike and although there will be short technical sections nothing should be overly demanding for intermediate riders of reasonable fitness. Each of our routes has been graded to make it easy to determine if it is suitable for your group. And each route is divided into sections (days) that in turn have a grading applied. The overall route’s grading is obtained by calculating the average across all the sections. more..

On viewing any of our mountain biking holiday you may determine that most sections would be suitable for your group but one section might look beyond one of the members’ abilities or fitness level. Not a problem. We can simply transplant that section with an alternative route choice. Please contact our staff for more information.

After an invigorating day in the hills it’s important to have somewhere warm and cosy to come back to. The choice of accommodation we offer includes hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts. All are selected for their quality and even those with lower star ratings have good standards of comfort and service. Where possible we offer accommodation with or near to leisure facilities such as a swimming pool.

We aim to take the hassle out of your holiday and arrange everything from cycle hire to accommodation to baggage transfer. We provide detailed information packs that include route maps and emergency contact numbers and also provide en route support where required. ..less
