Trail Cycling Holidays in Scotland

Ba Bridge between Inveroran and Loch Rannoch

On a Vurie Adventures trail cycling holiday you can be sure to leave the hustle and bustle of busy highways behind as you take to quiet back roads and serene country tracks. Replace honking horns with bellowing cattle or in October, red deer stags. Exchange exhaust fumes for fine fresh air and transplant the background drone of traffic with bird song, rumbling rivers and on warm still days almost no noise at all.

We have designed our trail cycling holidays to be as interesting and varied as possible. You will cycle through truly beautiful countryside and be treated to tremendous and inspiring views. One minute you might be breezing along a quiet country lane flanked by hedgerows and meadows and the next you could be gently rolling along the shore of a loch.

All of our cycling routes have been graded to make it easy for you to decide if a holiday will be suitable for your group. And routes are divided into sections (days) with each section receiving a grade. The overall route grade is calculated by averaging all the sections grades. And grades range from very easy to tough. When applying a grading to a trail section we consider length of route, gradient and terrain. Please read route itineraries carefully before making your choice. more..

On our trail cycling holidays although they’re generally not as demanding as our mountain biking holidays the opportunity to sample more rugged and challenging terrain may arise. In the information packs we provide sections that could be classed as mountain bike trails are clearly marked and their grading’s given so you can decide if you wish to ride them. The great plus of this is when you have groups of varying ambition; those that wish to stay on the main trail can, while the others tackle the alternative route, all meeting up where the routes converge again.

One of the best features of our holidays is that they are flexible and can be tailored to your specific desires. You can of course book the holiday advertised but if you wish you can make alterations like adding an extra night in a specified location or pre-book a white water rafting session en route. We can arrange this for you.

In each of destinations you visit during your holiday we have selected a range of accommodation to choose from. Hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts are selected based on how cyclist friendly they are and where possible we look to offer properties with or near to leisure facilities such as a swimming pool. Of course quality of accommodation is important as is cuisine and service. All our accommodation promotes a high level of friendly service.

We aim to take the hassle out of your holiday and arrange everything from cycle hire to accommodation to baggage transfer. We provide detailed information packs that include route maps and emergency contact numbers and also provide en route support where required. ..less
